If you are coming to Brighton for the day and your time is limited what do you do? I’m assuming it’s your first time here and you want to see as much as possible. This guide keeps everything walkable so you won’t need to find your way to different parts of the city.

If you have a good map you’ll be fine!

Find a place to get a coffee

As you walk out of the station you are a stones throw away from one of Brighton’s best spots, the North Laines.

Luckily this area isn’t short of places to sit and enjoy the city! Try heading to Sydney Street some of my favorite spots around here are Pelicano, The Flour Pot, Blend and Brew and Black Mocha.

While your in the Laines check out some of the independent shops

If you walk around you are certain to find a place you are interested in. Brighton has some quirky and interesting places to see.

If you want specific directions head from Sydney Street up Gloucester Road and down a narrow lane called Kensington Gardens.

You could spend hours here!

Head to the famous Brighton beach

If the weather is on your side and the sun is shining why not head to the famous Brighton beach. One thing you might want to know is there isn’t any sand on the beaches it’s all pebbles.

This means you won’t be able to make sand castles but you’ll be able to sit down at the seaside without getting wet!

Be careful of the seagulls if you have food, they are hungry!

Visit the Palace Pier for an ice cream

Brighton has two piers, the Palace pier is the one you can walk on a very traditional seaside pier with arcades and other amusements!

If you do get an ice cream again be careful of those seagulls!

Visit the old West Pier

If you get onto the Palace pier and look out towards the west you’ll see the remains of an old structure that used to be the West Pier. Unfortunately it suffered a few fires and all that remains is the iron structural work now an iconic part of this city’s history.

Dance on the bandstand

If you make it up to the old West Pier and head just a little bit further you’ll find the old Brighton bandstand and one of my favorite spots in the city, sometimes groups use the bandstand for dancing and when you see it in person you’ll see what it’s so popular!
